Announcements
JENAM is the Joint European and National Astronomy Meeting organized each year in one of the European countries jointly by the European Astronomical Society and the respective national astronomical society. JENAM 2011 will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia, during the week of July 4-8, 2011.
JENAM 2011 will host 9 Mini-Symposia, plenary sessions and many Special Sessions on various aspects of modern astronomy. The European Astronomical Society (EAS) general assembly and board meetings will also take place during JENAM2011.
We believe that JENAM2011 will be a truly exciting event, addressing a wide range of topics in Astronomy and Space Sciences and technologies, that are of interest to the European astronomical community.

This First Conference on Space Access will provide a dedicated forum to all stakeholders in the sector, addressing the following themes:

Overview of International Space Access Policy

Special plenary sessions and round tables dedicated to space access policy and strategy will be organized. Special focus will be proposed on :

The new American access to space strategy, including for the international station, taking into account a shifting space policy, the EELV dimension, and the emergence of fully commercial initiatives (such as the Falcon family);
Recent developments and future steps in emerging launching countries, such as Brazil and South Korea, with their diverse approach to developing a space access capability;
China and India’s growing and diversifying access to space needs and the implications for the continuation and evolution of their respective launcher families;
The future launcher family under ESA programmes : Vega, Soyouz at CSG, Ariane 5 ME, NGL/Ariane – including its evolution within a changing institutional and industrial landscape
Japan at a crossroads: following the establishment of llb as a dependable international player, what will come next?
Evolution of the Russian access to space infrastructure, with new launchers under development or proposed, new spaceports and the consolidation of the industrial landscape;
What future for international launch service ventures, in the light of the Sea Launch re-organisation and ILS “re-nationalisation”, and progress on Soyuz in Kourou;

Attendees

This conference will bring together the main stakeholders involved in ensuring, and benefiting from access to space : end-users, institutional strategists, agencies, industrial prime contractors, first tiers sub-contractors and equipment suppliers, system engineers, scientific and applied research organisations.
It is expected to be the forum for fruitful discussions and time will obviously be allowed for networking across the international community

2011 IAA Planetary Defense Conference: From Threat to Action

The International Academy of Astronautics will hold its second conference on protecting our planet from impacts by asteroids and comets from 9 - 12 May 2011 in Bucharest, Romania. The 1st IAA Planetary Defense Conference: Protecting Earth from Asteroids, co-sponsored by the European Space Agency and The Aerospace Corporation, is the follow-on to three previous planetary defense conferences held in 2004 in Los Angeles and 2007 in Washington, D.C., and in 2009 in Granada, Spain. For the upcoming conference in 2011, the call for papers is now open - see the menu item on the left for further details.

Институт астрономии РАН и Сибирский государственный аэрокосмический университет имени академика М.Ф. Решетнева приглашают Вас принять участие в работе международной конференции «Околоземная астрономия-2011», приуроченной к 50-летнему юбилею первого полета человека в космос. Конференция состоится с 5 по 10 сентября 2011 г. на базе пансионата «Гренада» в 20 км от г. Красноярск.

Цель конференции «Околоземная астрономия-2011»
   Последние 2-3 десятилетия привели человечество к пониманию существования по крайней мере двух космических угроз, носящих глобальный характер. Одна из них имеет техногенное происхождение – это катастрофическое засорение ближнего космоса отходами космической деятельности.
   Другая угроза – возможность столкновения Земли с малыми телами Солнечной системы.  Из-за отсутствия глобальной системы обнаружения опасных небесных тел, незнания их физико-химических свойств, степень надежности предупреждения о конкретной угрозе до сих пор неприемлемо мала.
   Цель конференции – обсуждение исследований по данным проблемам и возможностей согласованного подхода к организации в России современной системы наблюдений ИСЗ, космического мусора  и малых тел Солнечной системы.

Программа конференции
Предварительная программа конференции включает следующие разделы:

1. Экология околоземного космического пространства. Искусственные спутники Земли и космический мусор (КМ).
– проблемы контроля космического пространства;
– геостационарные и высокоэллиптические орбиты ОКП;
– методы и средства наблюдений;
– проекты космических аппаратов для исследования КМ в околоземном пространстве;
– теоретические проблемы движения элементов КМ и эволюции их орбит;
– современные возможности борьбы с техногенным загрязнением околоземного пространства.
2. Малые тела Солнечной системы
– астероиды: физические свойства, происхождение, механизм пополнения популяций астероидов на околоземных орбитах, методы и средства наблюдений избранных астероидов;
– Кометы: физические и динамические свойства, происхождение и эволюция, взаимосвязь с другими классами малых тел.
– Метеороиды, метеоры, метеориты. Наблюдение, каталогизация потоков, исследование характеристик потоков, эволюция потоков, поиск метеоритов по болидным наблюдениям.
– Космическая пыль как самостоятельная фракция межпланетной материи.

3. Астероидно-кометная опасность.
– распределение околоземных объектов;
– базы данных, информационные системы;
– стратегия и поиск опасных небесных тел;
–современные возможности противодействия астероидно-кометной опасности;
– опасный астероид Апофис;
– явления, связанный с падением небесных тел.

4. Круглый стол.
Системный подход к исследованию и противодействию космическим угрозам (естественный и искусственный космический мусор). Как создать в России современные пункты наблюдений опасных космических тел.

РЕГЛАМЕНТ КОНФЕРЕНЦИИ.
Приглашенные доклады: 30 минут, устные доклады на секционных заседаниях: 15 минут, стендовые доклады.

ТЕЗИСЫ
Тезисы принимаются до 1 июня 2011 г. в электронном виде. Текст тезисов должен быть размещен не более чем на 1 странице формата А4, включая перевод на английский язык. Текст в электронном виде принимается в MS Word 2003.
   Требования к оформлению тезисов. Параметры страницы: формат А4 (210х297 мм). Все поля по 2 см. Текст: шрифт – Times New Roman, размер 14 пт. По центру размещается название статьи, далее - на следующей строке - набираются инициалы, фамилия автора (авторов). Ниже по центру сокращенное название организации, на следующей строке - электронный адрес и через строку – резюме. Межстрочный интервал – полуторный, межбуквенный и междусловный интервал – нормальный, перенос слов не допускается. Абзацный отступ равен 0,5 см.
   Предполагается издание тезисов (до конференции) и трудов конференции (тематический выпуск Вестника СибГАУ после проведения конференции). Доклады будут прорецензированы научным комитетом конференции. Инструкция по подготовке докладов для публикации доступна на странице Вестника СибГАУ. Статьи для публикации в Вестнике СибГАУ желательно прислать до 15 июня, соблюдая все требования Вестника Вестника СибГАУ.

Рабочими языками конференции являются русский и английский.

РЕГИСТРАЦИОННЫЙ ВЗНОС
Регистрационный взнос в размере 500 рублей будет вноситься участником при регистрации непосредственно на конференции. В регистрационный взнос входит: издание тезисов, экскурсии, организация кофебрейков но не входят транспортные расходы, расходы на проживание и питание и другие расходы участника конференции.

ПРОЖИВАНИЕ
Предполагается размещение участников и проведение заседаний конференции «Околоземная астрономия-2011» в пансионате «Гренада». Подробная информация о проживании участников конференции приведена на сайте СибГАУ.

Second Workshop on Robotic Autonomous Observatories

The number of automatic astronomical facilities worldwide continues to grow, and the level of robotisation, autonomy, and networking is increasing as well. This has a strong impact in many astrophysical fields, like the search for extra-solar planets, the monitoring of variable stars in our Galaxy, the study of active galactic nuclei, the detection and monitoring of supernovae, and the immediate follow-up of high-energy transients such as gamma-ray bursts.

The main focus of the workshop will be on the new and existing astronomical facilities whose goal is to observe a wide variety of astrophysical targets with no (or very little) human interaction. The workshop will become an international forum for researchers to summarise the most recent developments and ideas in the field, with a special emphasis given to the technical and observational results and public outreach (including Citizen Science) and educational applications achieved within the last five years as well as the future strategies foreseen.
