The ISON-Ussuriysk (Ussuriysk astrophysical observatory of far eastern branch of Russian academy of science) participates in
international scientific optical network (ISON) since 2004. There are realized an observation program of space debris and
satellites at GEO and HEO region. The 22cm wide-field telescope ORI-22 has a field of view more than 30 square degrees.
Limit magnitude of observable objects is up to 16 magnitudes. The telescope is installed on EQ-6 automatized mount. The
main target of ORI-22 observation is providing of GEO region survey. The 25cm GAS-250 telescope with field of view more
than 7 square degrees and limit magnitude up to 16. The telescope equipped by color filter wheel to provide photometric
measurement. Application of GAS-250 is tracking of individual GEO and HEO objects. The fragment survey program was
realized on 50cm f/2.8 telescope VT-50. Limit magnitudes of VT-50 are down to 18. The telescope is equipped by CCD with
50-mm chip. This allows increasing a field of view more than 6 square degrees and provided ability to cover the fields with the
highest density of known fragment trajectories. During a 2011 year 50cm telescope participate in discovering of more than
150 non-cataloged objects. To increase a precision of object’s position measurement the each facility is equipped by
individual timing system. All CCD data are processed in Apex program package. For the survey facilities are realized a near
real time image data processing and analysis. Also telescopes are bounded with weather and sky control equipment. It’s
allowed be manage observational time with maximal efficiency. A few new telescopes for ISON-Ussuriysk are under
construction. The first one is 40cm reflector that planned to be used for photometric measurement and tracking the individual
objects. The second one is 65cm wide-field reflector that will be used as main in a couple with VT-50 for quick tracking of
newly discovered objects.

Using Apex II for Space Debris Image Analysis

Apex II is a general-purpose software platform for astronomical image analysis being developed by the ISON (International Scientific Optical Network) project team. Its major focus is on automatic astrometric and photometric reduction of CCD images of Solar system bodies, transient phenomena, and fast-moving objects, including space debris. Within ISON, the software is used for routine data reduction in regular survey and follow-up observations of the various types of orbits. Among other ISON member sites, the software is installed on FIRST (First Italian-Russian Space surveillance Telescope) at Collepardo. Here we discuss the use of Apex II for space debris observations and some of its recent developments, including efficient fast-moving object detection and parallel image analysis utilizing modern graphical processors (GPGPUs).

First Announcement: Huntsville in Nashville --The Seventh Huntsville Gamma-ray Burst Symposium

Gamma-ray bursts are the most powerful explosions in the Universe.  The study of GRBs has expanded enormously since the publication of their discovery in 1973. With X-ray and gamma-ray observations from active space missions such as Fermi, Swift, AGILE, MAXI, INTEGRAL, Konus, Suzaku, GAP and NuSTAR, this is an exciting time for GRB physics. Observations of the prompt spectra from X-rays to GeV gamma-rays are revealing additional components to the emission. Afterglow observations at radio, optical X-ray and up to GeV energies continue to provide clues as to the nature of GRB hosts and jets. Recent and developing capabilities such as PTF, XSHOOTER, LOFAR, ALMA and CARMA will expand this area of GRB studies. We are entering a vibrant era for multi-messenger GRB astronomy, and prospects for detecting gravitational wave, neutrino, and very-high energy emissions from GRBs are improving greatly with next-generation instrumentation such as HAWC, CTA and Advanced LIGO/VIRGO. The wealth of data contributes to the improving theoretical understanding of the GRB phenomenon.

Huntsville in Nashville: The Seventh Huntsville Gamma-Ray Burst Symposium will cover all areas of GRB science. Topics will include prompt emission (observations & theory), afterglows (observations & theory), high redshift observations & early universe implications, central engine and jet physics, supernovae & progenitors, host galaxies, short and sub-energetic GRBs (observations & theory), multi-messenger observations and future instruments.  While the focus of the meeting is GRBs, we will discuss related topics, such as core collapse supernovae and tidal disruption events. We will hold a panel discussion on the future of the field with particular emphasis on upcoming opportunities for proposing missions and experiments.

Limited support is available to facilitate attendance for a small number of students and recent graduates (up to 3 years post-Ph.D).   For further information see the conference website.

Third Workshop on Robotic Autonomous Observatories

The number of automatic astronomical facilities worldwide continues to grow, and the level of robotisation, autonomy, and networking is increasing as well. This has a strong impact in many astrophysical fields, like the search for extra-solar planets, the monitoring of variable stars in our Galaxy, the study of active galactic nuclei, the detection and monitoring of supernovae, and the immediate follow-up of high-energy transients such as gamma-ray bursts.

The main focus of the workshop will be on the new and existing astronomical facilities whose goal is to observe a wide variety of astrophysical targets with no (or very little) human interaction. The workshop will become an international forum for researchers to summarise the most recent developments and ideas in the field, with a special emphasis given to the technical and observational results and public outreach (including Citizen Science) and educational applications achieved within the last five years as well as the future strategies foreseen.

Посмотрел презентации AstroRob 2011, полезная конференция. В этом году видится, например, доклад Леонида и Алексея об автоматической системе отработки GRB-алертов на ISON-NM?

Сильные доклады по сетапам были у японцев (The MITSUME robotic telescope in Japan) и испанцев (Robotic telescope CHASE-500).

Да, конфа интересная для меня, можно и про CLT и про Gamma-CLT рассказать. Будет еще .Astronomy5, но в США, со всеми вытекающими...
Хотя первая даже интереснее для нас. Опять же, можно будет все же наладить тесный контакт с автором RTS2.

Интересная в каком смысле? Посмотреть, что у других делается?

С точки зрения завязывания новых связей конференция AstroRob мне кажется малоперспективной. Конференций столько, что во всех поучаствовать нельзя.
