Феттер пытался редуцировать наблюдения двух КА ГСО, Milstar 6 и AEHF 1. Но вообще, при соблюдении некоторых условий касательно трека в кадре, APEX вполне пригоден и для астрометрии низколётов.

A Rocket Engine Seen from the Ground

On April 18, 2014 the SpaceX Dragon CRS-3 ISS resupply ship was launched into space. 23 minutes after the spacecraft left the ground, it would provide an amazing show to European observers. Just across the Atlantic, in the Netherlands, I was waiting with the telescope to see what I could capture from the launch. I never had such a favorable opportunity before to photograph an orbiting object so shortly after launch.

Details:
When the ISS appears brighter then normally, probably this is happening: One of the big radiator panels in the mid of the station is flaring sunlight towards the observer. Such a radiator flare is visible in this image.

Taken with 10 inch Newtonian equatorial mount, tracked fully manually using 6x magnification and crosshair alignment. All CCD cam @ 2880 mm effective focal length.

Сегодня опять стрелял по МКС, в Новосибирске пролет был не самый удачный, а дальше погода испортится, не вытерпел, поехал за 300 км от Новосибирска в р-н Барнаула, там она поближе пролетала 500км минимальная дистанция, на самом деле хотел забраться еще южнее, но не успел по времени. Приехал обратно в Нск, с ног валюсь, но один кадр не утерпел и обработал. Ньютон 200/1000+ASI174, барлоу НПЗ 2Х+втулки.

Tracking and Identification of Anonymous ISON Objects

Over the past few months, I have been attempting to track several objects listed in the ISON catalog that are not currently matched with items in the hobbyist tracking list (classfd.tle), and that have not yet been identified as matching unclassified objects. This paper aims to discuss my findings and present options for future effort, including a list of objects that would be practical to independently track.
