8th Satellites End of Life and Sustainable Technologies Workshop

Wed January 22 2020, 9:00 AM – Thu January 23 2020, 5:00 PM

IADC guide lines, ISO 24113 and different national laws recommend post mission disposal measures once mission is ended. It consists in disposal of spacecraft or launch vehicle orbital stage in order to minimize interferences with the protected regions and to take measures to reduce risks of accidental break-up by removing, for example, stored energy. This aims to guarantee sustainability of space activities by reducing space environment footprint.

 Event details
The objectives of this 1-day workshop are to have an overview of the state of the art in technologies and concepts and discuss way to improve present and relevant future challenges.

We invite you to presents oral presentation during one of the 2 sessions on the following topics:
•         Session 1 : End of life
•         Standards & Best practices
•         Post Mission Disposal concepts
•         End of life Operation lessons learned
•         Reentry & desorbitation concepts
•         Reentry Observations
•         Mission extension vs end of life
•         Session 2 : Sustainable Technologies
•         Spacecraft reliability vs PMD Probability
•         Design for Demise
•         ADR Ready,
•         Equipments
•         Protecting spacecraft against micro-meteroid
•         Spacecraft Health Monitoring
•         Tools, methodology, initiatives
•         Environnement footprint
The previous editions of this workshop were successful with each time more than 100 participants representing Administrations, Space Agencies, Operators and Industry companies.

Call for Papers for AMOS Conference 2020 - Due March 1

Maui Economic Development Board is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 21st annual Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference scheduled to take place September 15-18, 2020 at the Wailea Marriott in Maui, Hawaii.

The more than 100 technical papers offered as oral presentations or poster presentations are the core of the annual AMOS Conference. The rich array of presenters cover research and development ongoing in the many fields related to space situational awareness/space domain awareness; such as adaptive optics and imaging, orbital debris, astrodynamics, non-resolved object characterization and more.

The AMOS Program Committee reviews all submissions from the annual Call for Papers and selects those that best meet the scientific and technical goals of the conference. We encourage submissions from international, undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at an accredited college or university. International and student participants will receive a reduced conference fee.

Please visit https://amostech.com/amos-speakers/ for all the details on submitting an abstract.  Proposals for special sessions, such as panels and invited oral presentations are also considered.
