Институт астрономии РАН и Сибирский государственный
аэрокосмический университет имени академика М.Ф. Решетнева
приглашают Вас принять участие в работе международной
конференции "Околоземная астрономия-2011", которая
состоится в первой половине сентября 2011 г. на базе
СибГАУ в г. Красноярск.

Основные секции конференции:
1.      Малые тела Солнечной системы
2.      ИСЗ и космический мусор
3.      Экология околоземного пространства
4.      Астероидно-кометная опасность.

Подробная информация будет представлена  во втором
информационном сообщении (ориентировочно 1 марта).

Aloha! The Maui Economic Development Board is pleased to announce the 12th annual Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies Conference on September 13-16, 2011 at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort in Maui, Hawaii.

The conference series aims to provide a stimulating and thought-provoking forum for sharing the latest technical developments and ideas in space surveillance, optics and high performance computing. It is intended for scientists, engineers, and technical managers from academia, industry, government, and military programs. This will be an unclassified conference consisting of pre-conference tutorials, optional technical tours, featured speakers, a technical program, poster sessions, and exhibits.

Over 100 papers will be presented with opportunities for networking and technical discussions—all in an environment that stimulates the imagination and intellect of participants through its beautiful Maui scenery and unique Hawaiian hospitality.

European Space Surveillance Conference

Today, we rely on space-borne assets to support a wide and growing range of activities in daily life. Our space dependence is both visible and hidden; the apparent ones, such as our navigation systems and entertainment networks, are widely recognised as depending on satellites functioning continuously and safely in orbit. Other aspects of our dependence, however, are more subtle and their benefits are less obvious, but by no means less important

It is this reason why there is so much interest in Space Surveillance. Without a situational awareness - or Space Situational Awareness (SSA) of all objects in orbit, we find ourselves trusting to luck that our services will remain uninterrupted.

The European Space Surveillance Conference (ESS2011) has been created to provide an opportunity for professionals working in this area to exchange ideas, concepts and solutions to the many challenges stand in the way of safer satellite operations in
space.

Не исключено, что делегаты сессии оценят шансы столкновения астероида Апофис с Землей, передает Радио ООН. Апофис был открыт в 2004 году сотрудниками Национального управления США по аэронавтике и исследованию космического пространства (НАСА).

Апофис был открыт в 2004 году сотрудниками Национального управления США по аэронавтике и исследованию космического пространства (НАСА).

 До сих пор полагал, что честь открытия принадлежит Рою Такеру, Дэвиду Тоулену и Фабрицио Бернарди из Гавайского Университета.

Topics: In general, contributions regarding all aspects of recent developments in space technologies are welcome. In particular presentations addressing the specific theme of RAST2011 are welcome. Papers may fall under, but not be limited to the following topics:

. Utilization of space for the future of mankind;
. Space technologies that contribute to security, including all  aspects and threats, natural, man-made, humanitarian etc.
. Computational modeling for design, development and control of aerospace vehicles, during launch, space travel (orbit), and reentry
. Earth observation projects and programs geared especially toward prediction, mitigation monitoring of natural disasters
. Developments in GNSSs, interoperability, new applications
. Small satellites, micro, nano and pico satellites, cubesats
. New and novel instrumentation for various spacecraft functions, including ADCS, power, vehicle control, space robotics etc.
. Space law, space medicine, and benefits of information available from space (social, educational and others)
. Visions into future of space science, multiverses, black holes, etc.
. Energy from space
. Design and construction of space structures, space systems, materials, simulation and testing
. Computational modeling of material processing and other flow physics associated processes under microgravity conditions in space
. New remote sensing technologies and applications, i.e. hyperspectral sensing, SAR, applications in meteorology, environment, agriculture, etc.
. Affordable and novel launch systems
. New space communication techniques, higher frequencies, new apps
. Scientific applications, deep space, space weather and near Earth space microgravity
. International cooperation, especially among space-faring and developing countries.
. Space travel; colonization of other heavenly bodies; SETI.

Special Sessions: The participants of the conference are encouraged to organize special sessions (4-6 papers) in a particular area within the conference theme. For details, the special sessions chair Seyhan Onbaşıoğlu (onbasiogl1@itu.edu.tr) or RAST2011 Secretariat is to be contacted.
