The Space-Track.org development team is redesigning the website to
improve its data sharing methods.
We intend to stop producing bulk
files (.zip and .txt) and want customers to use our RESTful
Application Programming Interface (API) to download only the new data
since your last visit. Although this API will enhance data sharing,
those who download bulk files from
https://www.space-track.org/perl/bulk_files.pl will need to change
their retrieval methodology to keep receiving data.
The development team has set up a beta website where you, the data
consumer, can test your data collection techniques on live data
through the new RESTful API. TLE, SATCAT, and CSM data is available
through customizable URLs in formats including JSON, XML, and CSV.
Please follow the "How To" suggestions at
https://beta.space-track.org/documentation#/howto and the API
instructions/samples at
https://beta.space-track.org/documentation/api to test your new data gathering techniques. Your current space-track
account credentials will work with the beta site.
We anticipate that we will stop producing bulk files in October, but
this schedule is subject to change. Please begin testing now so we
can identify potential issues early. If you have feedback on the beta
website or how we can improve operations, please DO NOT REPLY TO THIS
ADDRESS. Please email beta@space-track.org instead.
Thank you,
The Space-Track.org development team
