5–7 июля 2010 г.Рига (Латвия). Международный симпозиум «Космос и глобальная безопасность человечества»
По предложению Международной академии астронавтики и Российской академии К.Э. Циолковского в период с 5-7 июля 2010 г. в Риге пройдет Второй специализированный Международный симпозиум «Космос и глобальная безопасность человечества».
Цель симпозиума: обсуждение политических, правовых, организационных и технических аспектов реализации Проекта МАКСМ (Международная аэрокосмическая система мониторинга глобальных природных и техногенных явлений), перспектив расширения круга государств-участников.
Среди основных направлений работы Международного симпозиума «Космос и глобальная безопасность человечества»:
1. Проект Концепции МАКСМ:
- цели, задачи, требования, облик, структура;
- методы, технологии и средства прогнозирования чрезвычайных ситуаций природного и техногенного характера;
- единое информационное пространство МАКСМ: использование навигационных и телекоммуникационных ресурсов системы в интересах решения гуманитарных проблем (ликвидация последствий чрезвычайных ситуаций, дистанционное обучение, медицина катастроф и другое);
- политический, правовой, организационный, финансовый и технический аспекты создания и использования МАКСМ.
2. Организация научных исследований в целях технической реализации Концепции МАКСМ.
3. Заседание «Общественного Комитета по поддержке и продвижению Проекта МАКСМ»
Создание Общественного комитета по реализации проекта МАКСМ является результатом работы Первого специализированного международного симпозиума «Космос и глобальная безопасность человечества», проходившего в период с 4 по 7 ноября в г. Лимассол, Республика Кипр. В нем приняли участие представители России, Белоруссии, Германии, Италии, Индии, Казахстана, Кении, Китая, Нигерии, Туниса, США, Франции, Украины и других стран.
Сопредседателем оргкомитета Симпозиума является Вице-президент Российской академии космонавтики им. К.Э. Циолковского, директор - научный руководитель НИИ космических систем Валерий Меньшиков.

Binary asteroids appear ubiquitous, they were found in many zones of the solar system. We present the discovery of a binary asteroid in the small group in the Hecuba gap with high-inclination orbit laying in the Jupiter 2:1 mean-motion resonance and with dynamical lifetime about 10 Myr (Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc. 335, 417 (2002)). The discovery was a result of collaboration of three groups of photometric observers.
    The photometric observations of asteroid (8373) Stephengould obtained during 2010 Jan. 16-Feb. 6 revealed that it is a binary system with an orbital period of 34.15 +/- 0.1 hr. The primary showed a period of 4.4345 hr with a lightcurve amplitude of 0.33 to 0.39 mag. Earlier observations in this apparition taken on 2009 Nov. 30 and Dec. 22 showed a lower primary amplitude of 0.18 and 0.28 mag, respectively; the amplitude changes were likely caused by changes of the illumination and viewing aspect of the minor planet. Mutual eclipse/occultation events observed during Jan. 17-Feb. 1 indicate a lower limit on the secondary-to-primary mean-diameter ratio of 0.27. The events were more shallow on Feb. 4 and 6; a possible cause is that the system was moving away from the eclipse geometry. Later observations taken during 2010 March-June did not show obvious events while observed small changes of lightcurve shape could be caused by aspect changes. Measured color indices in the Johnson-Cousins system are: B-R = 1.20 +/- 0.043, V-R = 0.435 +/- 0.041, R-I = 0.43 +/- 0.045.  The calibrated data of Jan. 17 gave the mean absolute magnitude H_R = 14.2 +0.3/-0.4, assuming G = 0.2 +/- 0.2. Re-examination of 2004 observations by Warner (Minor Planet Bull. 31, 67) showed what appears to be an event that was overlooked in the original analysis. Since only one event was captured (2004 Jan. 9), it was not possible to determine the orbital period from the 2004 data. Images of some nights were co-added for up to 15 kiloseconds equivalent exposures (with 0.6-m class telescopes); there was seen no sign of cometary activity for this object.

I would like to draw your attention to the space conference that will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, during 9-11 June 2011, under the title 5th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies - RAST 2011.

RAST 2011 has a special significance in that it coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Air Force. As such, it is planned to be a major part of the centennial celebrations.

The main theme, "The Future is in the Skies", is taken from an incredibly visionary statement of Ataturk, when he predicted in 1936 that mankind would travel in space. The scope of the conference covers many space related topics, but in particular, we wish to stress visions for the future. Call for paper details are available at the URL www.rast.org.tr.

WORKSHOP Gaia-FUN-SSO follow-up network for the Solar System Objects
from November 29 to December 1, 2010

Purpose

The observation of Solar System Objects (SSO) by the Gaia space astrometry mission will be constrained by a scanning law. Several detections of interesting objects may be done with no possibility of further observations by the probe. These objects will then require complementary ground-based observations. Among them, previously unknown Near-Earth Objects, fast moving towards the Earth or going away from it could be found. Several objects discovered by Gaia can also be Inner-Earth Objects, since the probe will observe at rather low Solar elongations. In order to achieve the goal of following interesting targets soon after their first detection in space, a dedicated network is organized, the Gaia Follow-Up Network for SSO. This task is performed in the frame the Coordination Unit 4 of the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC), devoted to data processing of specific objects. The goal of the network will be to improve the knowledge of the orbit of poorly observed targets by astrometric observations on alert. This activity will be coordinated by a central node interacting with the Gaia data reduction pipeline all along the mission. We organize a workshop in Paris in November 2010 in order to promote the coordination of the network of observing stations already identified or to get in touch with possibly new stations. During this workshop, the status of Gaia will be presented, the alert process and the data processing will be discussed. The participants will be invited to present their equipment, instruments, observing sites and to express their needs and interest. They also will try to converge, during appropriate discussion sessions, to agreed procedures for observation, data policy, and other issues common to all the observers.

на этой неделе участвовал в конференции организуемой ИКИ
"Космические средства фундаментальных космических исследований".
Были представители ИКИ, ОАО Российские космические системы, НПО им.
Лавочкина.  Выступил с обзорным докладом о наблюдениях на 50-ке:
"Использование 50 см рефлектора для исследования объектов космического
пространства". Рассказал немного о нашей кооперации. Народ очень проникся,
даже не думал что так живо воспримут.
По мимо всего прочего ездили на антенну РТ-70 в Уссурийске. До сих пор под
впечатлением от масштабов увиденного. И очень порадовало что там все
возраждается, причем очень хорошими темпами (если интересно, скажи, я
расскажу детально).

Привет!

Доклад мой проехал. Думаю, что нормально. В 20мин не вложился, наваял
много. Но будет что показывать в Кордове. Диего подошел, пожал руку и
улыбаясь сказал, что очень хорошо. Добавил, что "я ж тебе говорил, листай
слайды быстро, не читая" - это он мне так действительно рекомендовал перед
выступлением.
