Space capabilities are woven deeply into the fabric of modern society. Commerce relies on them for the swift flow of information and transactions, and the national security arena depends on them for joint war fighting and protection of the homeland. Space Situational Awareness (SSA) is critical to space activities and the long-term sustainability of space. It provides knowledge about what is happening in space, and in particular Earth orbit. This knowledge provides understanding of the space environment, including space debris and space weather, which could damage satellites or disrupt satellite services. SSA helps owner-operators protect their satellites, including human-crewed spacecraft, from these and other threats. SSA also provides awareness of the potential negative impacts of certain activities in space, such as explosions and collisions, and their potential to degrade the long-term utility of space. Please join the TechAmerica Space Enterprise Council and the George Marshall Institute as industry and government experts will discuss the latest developments in the area of Space Situational Awareness.

23rd International Symposium on
Space Flight Dynamics
 
Pasadena, California, October 29 – November 2, 2012
 
Call for Papers
 
The Mission Design and Navigation Section of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is organizing this year’s International Symposium on Space Flight Dynamics (ISSFD). The symposium is the 23rd in a series of symposia sponsored by various space agencies, including CNES, DLR, ESA, INPE, JAXA, KIAM, NASA/GSFC, and JPL. It is intended to provide an international forum for specialists in the field of space flight dynamics, with an emphasis on operational activities and results.
 
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
•             Orbit theory
•             Mission and trajectory design
•             GN&C measurement systems
•             Tracking and orbit determination
•             Maneuver design
•             Autonomous navigation
•             Attitude dynamics, determination, and control
•             Constellation design and maintenance
•             Space environment, orbital debris and collision risk mitigation
•             Flight dynamics operations
 
The symposium will consist of contributed presentations and – possibly – posters, with sessions covering the areas of interest listed previously. Special sessions may also be organized to cover more specific areas of interest.  The symposium will take place from October 29 to November 2 in Pasadena at the Pasadena Convention Center. A website is being prepared which will contain the final instructions for abstract submission and registration.
 
Abstracts for proposed papers must be received by 11 May 2012. Abstracts should be 500–1000 words (two-page maximum), and must (i) clearly describe the subject matter and (ii) include a statement highlighting any novel concepts in the paper with any rationale the author wishes to put forth for acceptance by the Program Committee. Abstracts must be in English and in a format suitable for reproduction on 8-1/2 by 11 inch paper. Proposed computer demonstrations must include a statement briefly describing the demonstration and listing the equipment required. All submissions must clearly identify the primary author and the author’s mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. The website will provide the template to use for abstracts and papers, as well as the way to submit the abstract.
 
Presentations and final papers must be in English. Papers will be published electronically at a permanent ISSFD website.

Мне кажется это предложение ОЧЕНЬ ИНТЕРЕСНЫМ.
Ведь жалко терять время - целый год, а может быть и больше.
У нас есть сейчас очень интересные результаты как теоретические,
так и практические и хорошо бы семинар всё же провести.

Maui Economic Development Board is pleased to announce the 13th annual Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies Conference on September 11-14, 2012 at the Wailea Marriott in Maui, Hawaii.
The conference series aims to provide a stimulating and thought-provoking forum for sharing the latest technical developments and ideas in space surveillance, optics and high performance computing.
